Su música es envolvente y su voz, delicada y con alma. Hoy me apetece escuchar a la intérprete de jazz norteamericana Madeleine Peyroux. De origen canadiense (de ahí su apellido francés), a esta guitarrista, compositora y cantante, sólo le gusta actuar en recintos pequeños, así que sus conciertos tienen un aire intimista y próximo.
El pasado verano, cenando en un restaurante en Saint-Maló, en la Bretaña, no pude resistirme a preguntarle a la camarera de quién era la música que estaba sonando. «Elle est Madeleine Peyroux, vous la connaissez?» Pues había oído hablar de ella pero hasta ese momento no había sido consciente de lo maravillosa que era su música. He elegido dos de sus canciones más conocidas, sobretodo ‘I’m all right’, perteneciente a su tercer album, Half the perfect world, editado en 2006. No se me ocurre mejor banda sonora para un frío domingo de noviembre.
